Minnesota State Fair Fine Art Show, 2008.I painted this from a photo of my missionary friend, Keith Smith, who has spent many years in Burkina Faso. I think we have so much to learn from those who have so little- they are rich in ways we cannot fathom, and yet , in the western world, we have so much materially and are impoverished spiritually. I 've painted from a few of Keith's photographs in the hope that I, and anyone who sees the paintings, will pause and reflect a while.
